The training formally began on Monday, June 29, at the hotel Hills in Sarajevo, with an introductory address by the Executive Director of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, Mr. Jasmin Bešić, who welcomed the participants and wished them a productive training. He told the participants that the training will provide them with key knowledge and skills they need to contribute to improving the position of young people in their local communities.

“When a lot of little people do a lot of little, good things, this results in something big. These “little people” are youth officers. The first module met all my expectations and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next”, said Mr. Uroš Šušak, Youth Officer from Prnjavor Municipality and one of the participants.

Cooperation with Centar Municipality continued with this training program, since Centar’s Youth Officer, Ms. Minja Ćukar, is one of this year’s participants. She thanked the Institute for the opportunity to take part in the training, and said that she hasn’t felt so connected with a group of people in a while, adding that the group is so diverse it feels like a mini version of BiH.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT has been holding youth officer trainings and certified courses for expert youth work associates employed in municipal and cantonal administrations. The training program consists of 5 obligatory modules (120 hours) to be held from June to December 2020 in various cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The participants will receive their certificates in December this year.
