On 9 January 2013, the Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of the Municipality of Busova?a was held in a Small Hall of the Municipality of Busova?a, whereby the Foundation Kairos, ABF Busova?a, Youth Centre Busova?a and Youth Association Nehrida became part of the entity that will be pursuing efforts, at the local level, for the benefit of young people and youth associations. Safet Alispahi? was elected the President of the Assembly of the Youth Council, Dario Plav?i? was elected the President of the Managing Board, while the Board members are Martina Malenica, Ivana Raji? and Sakiba Neslanovi?.


Establishment of the Youth Council in the Central Bosnia Canton is coordinated and managed by the Centre for Youth Education, in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement signed with the Institute for Youth Development KULT. As a result of this cooperation, the Youth Councils of the Municipalities of Novi Travnik, Travnik and Busova?a have been established in the Central Bosnia Canton.


 

Representatives of 24 Youth Councils were awarded the certificates for successfully undertaking the training programme Building the Capacities of Youth Councils, on 16 December 2012. The training programme consisted of three modules, delivered over a 12 day period, and the following topics were presented: The role and future of youth councils, Youth council networking, Cooperation with the authorities, Public appearances and media, Fundraising, and Organisational and financial management.


The objective of the training program is to empower youth councils thus enable them to professionally represent the interests of their members (youth organisations), and to pursue the institutional problem solving concepts.


The training programme was organised as part of the project Institutional dialogue between youth and governmental authorities through the establishment of youth councils.



 

On Monday, 10 December 2012, the Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of Novi Travnik Municipality was held. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of Novi Travnik Municipality (Jasmin HodĹľi?, Mirjana BlaĹľevi?), and the representatives of the following youth associations: UM Mladost (Amir Krnji?, Mirela Jusi?, Maida ?aja), OU ?ulistan (Asim Mehanovi?, Almedin Zec, Hasan Mehanovi?), and MreĹľa mladih (Harun Herceg , Kenit ?aki?, Nihad ?aki?).


The representative of the association MreĹľa Mladih, Mr. Kenit ?aki?, was elected the President of the Youth Council, and Mrs. Mida ?aja was elected the President of the Assembly.


The following step is registration with the Ministry of Justice of the Srednja Bosna Canton, and the adoption of the plan and program of work of the Youth Council of Novi Travnik Municipality.


 

The Founding Assembly of the Youth Council of Breza Municipality was held at the premises of Radni?ki dom. The Council members are the following three associations: Mladost-Žup?a, Omladinski centar Desnek and Mla?ak.


Ibrahim Mehmedagi? was elected the President of the Youth Council. In his opinion, in the upcoming period this Youth Council will be striving towards creating a better social environment for young people from Breza.


 

Institute for Youth Development KULT regularly organises thematic meetings with the representatives of the authorities and young people known as Coffee time with ... This time we welcomed Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanovi?, Minister of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton. The Minister Marjanovi? has so far been the only official Minister in charge of youth in the Federation of BiH.


During this gathering particular steps needed for maintaining future cooperation between the Institute and the Ministry were agreed.


This visit was organised as part of the training course Building the Capacities of Youth Councils and present were the representatives of Youth Councils in BiH.



 

On 28 November 2012, the OSCE Mission to BiH held a meeting for the representatives of Youth Councils and Youth Associations from Canton 10. The topic of discussion was the Youth Friendliness Index and the goal is to empower the Councils and Associations in order to conduct a thorough research on the status of youth and municipal policies concerning youth issues, thus create the basis for actively supporting the interests of young people in their local communities.


The meeting was attended by the representatives of Youth Councils from Livno and Tomislavgrad, Youth Association from Drvar, Kupres, Bosansko Grahovo and Glamo?, and by the municipal representatives.


A representative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT presented further steps that are to be undertaken for the purpose of carrying out activities with the established Councils.
