The Charter on Business and Human Rights has been created using the Methodology for designing the Charter on Business and Human Rights, written specifically for this purpose. The Charter is the product of the initiative Improving Human Rights in the Business Sector in BiH, implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT in cooperation with the Association of Employers of FBiH, and with the financial support of the European Union.
By signing the Charter on Business and Human Rights, BiH companies signal their commitment to respecting and protecting human rights. The Charter asserts that companies adopting it comply with state regulations, as well as with relevant international documents dealing with human rights, primarily the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
The Charter consists of 15 articles related to preventing human rights violations, involving stakeholders and acknowledging their needs and opinions, committing to equal treatment, protecting the work environment, preventing forced labor and human trafficking, protecting the right to a communication system that guarantees confidentiality to all employees making any kind of report.
The Institute for Youth Development KULT, in cooperation with the Association of Employers of FBiH, will disseminate the Charter to companies, inviting as many of them as possible to sign the Charter and uphold it as an added value of their business.
The Methodology for developing the Charter on Business and Human Rights and the Charter itself are available for download, and more information about the initiative is available HERE.
