Eighth Module of UMiD Kids: Discipline, Reward and Punishment

The eighth module of UMiD Kids took place at the Educational-Leisure Center for Youth SPAJALICA and at the spring of the Bosnia river. This time, we taught little ones about discipline, punishment and reward, with the help of Amel Tuka, BiH’s best athlete.

We used this module for role-playing too – our participants played the role of TV show guests. During their “appearance” on TV, they talked about what they learned during the training, shared their impressions and reflected on the differences between this training and their classes at school.

Our participants and their parents shared their impressions from this module.

Karim, a 9-year-old boy was very excited about spending time with Amel, but he said that the second day was also eventful and that he learned to take responsibility for the tasks he is given.

9-year-old Dora says she loves being a part of UMiD Kids because she met new friends. She says she’s always looking forward to the sessions and learning new things.

The parents say they’re very pleased with the training and grateful to Spajalica and the Institute for caring about the little ones, and they’re also looking forward to new modules.

UMiD Kids is an interactive educational program for children, consisting of 12 modules dealing with topics relevant to a child’s intellectual, emotional and sociological development. The goal of this program is to improve children’s confidence, deepen their connection with parents, their school and friends, to help them see themselves and others in context and more clearly, to develop a sensibility to others and themselves.

UMiD Kids is implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT and attended by kids ages 8 to 10. The training is free for the children because the costs are covered by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in BiH.
