Young Community Leaders: Have You Heard About the Mobile Psychological Counseling Center?

Azra Musić, a participant in the Learn, Think and Act! program, is an advocate for change and support for young people in Tuzla, especially those living in rural areas.

The “Mobile Psychological Counseling Center” initiative offered young people a unique opportunity to explore mental health through interactive workshops and individual sessions available after the lectures. Azra saw the importance of addressing mental health and decided to create opportunities that are typically not available to young people when it comes to mental health.

The workshops provided participants with a unique opportunity to learn about mental health. Through interactive sessions, young people learned about the fundamentals of mental health, the factors influencing it, and the importance of protecting and improving their own mental well-being. Participants contributed their own experiences, deepening the impact of the discussions.

The support provided through the initiative has been invaluable – it offered young people an outlet for their own concerns and provided guidance on how to protect their mental health.

One of the key goals of the initiative is empowering young people by setting up mental health care mechanisms. Young people learned about tools and techniques that will be useful to them in the future. This initiative not only provides immediate support but builds the foundations for the long-term protection of the mental health of young people in rural communities.

Azra emphasizes that the goal of this initiative is not just to inform young people but also to empower them to actively protect their mental health.

“I want young people to understand that taking care of your mental health is not a sign of weakness but of courage and strength. “The ‘Mobile Psychological Counseling Center’ is here to support them on their journey of self-help and self-reflection,” says Azra.

This local civil initiative sets a standard for delivering mental health care in communities with often limited access to mental health resources. The “Mobile Psychological Counseling Center” left a lasting impact on young people, helping them build resilience and the confidence to face everyday challenges.

This initiative is implemented in partnership with the Association Youth Movement Revolt from Tuzla, with mentoring and financial support provided by the  Institute for Youth Development KULT.
