It is an honour to invite you to the first public presentation of the online platform for reviewing concrete results of donations to flooded areas entitled ‘BRANA’ (DAM) that will be held on Wednesday, 15 July 2015 at 11:00 at the Centre for Visitors of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly in Sarajevo (left of the main entrance), at Trg BiH 1.
During the press conference, the media will be addressed by David Barth, Director of USAID Mission in BiH, by Melvin Asin, Head of Department for Cooperation of Delegation of EU to BiH and Ana Lu?i?, Manager of the ‘BRANA’ project.
‘BRANA’ Network is a new initiative of the civil society dedicated to a radical transparency in spending funds for recovery of flooded areas. It includes activities of 22 NGOs that will form a database presented on a special interactive web-platform that will present projects funded by donors.
‘BRANA’ Network operates on the area of 78 municipalities/cities in BiH, and there are currently 68 of its representatives that have visited 257 locations where donations were spent (49 households, 77 economic objects, 99 institutions and 32 other locations). Database so far contains 864 donations for concrete projects out of by 26 international and local donors, 70,016,409.00 US dollars in total value (70 million 16 thousand 409 USD).
Other instruments such as a free telephone line to report misuse of assets or to report successful renovation stories will be used in gathering data.
‘BRANA’ Network was established with the help of Mission of US Agency for International Development (USAID) in BiH.
