Never Too Late to Learn

In life-long learning, there are three types of complementary forms of education; formal, non-formal and informal education. In our society non-formal education is still not sifficuently valued or recognised, although it enables us to become part of a society willing to advocate for individual and social progress. In order to emphasise the need for life-long learning, in 1999 UNESCO started the Week of Life-long Learning initiative, which is organised every year, September 24-30, in numerous countries.
