International Organisation for Migrations (IOM) organised a training at Europa Hotel in Sarajevo on the topic of HIV/AIDS – Strengthening and Advocating as a part of the project entitled Building State Capacities and Raising Awareness on HIV/AIDS in BiH: Mobile Populations.
The 3-day training welcomed 26 NGOs from all over BiH, and it was led by Italian experts: Mr. Stefano Volpicelli, Mr. Germano Calvi and Mrs. Viviane Sacco. The aim of training was to strengthen the abilities of communicating and advocating in local NGOs, as well as HIV/AIDS-related activism.
Since “correct communication regarding HIV/AIDS can change the situation”, the IOM is planning a series of trainings for NGOs and experts in area of mass media in order to strengthen their communiaction abilities related to prevention and care related to HIV/AIDS in mobile populations.
The project is financed by the Global Fund for AIDS, TUberculosis and Malaria for BiH (GFATM), the funds in BiH are coordinated by the UNDP and it is implemented by International Organisation for Migrations (IOM).
