The Institute for Youth Development KULT in cooperation with the German Embassy in BiH is organizing a youth conference in Sarajevo, expected to be attended by 100 young people from Europe and the world. The Conference will be held from June 26 to July 3, 2014.
The Conference will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WWI, in the city which was in the centre of attention of the entire world, 100 years ago. The goal of the Conference and the “Mlada Europa” initiative, is the promotion of peace, intercultural dialogue, trust and reconciliation among different peoples and nations.
During the eight-day Conference, youth will have the opportunity to participate in activities commemorating the beginning of WWI and to familiarise themselves with important historical sites in BiH. The participants will also take part in different teams in which they will be able to write articles for the Institute’s magazine about youth work, as well as taking part in the declaration team and other teams.
We believe that young activists will take from the conference a valuable experience of international cooperation, and that when they leave BiH and Sarajevo they will take with them with the lesson humanity has learned over the past 100 years, from 1914 to 2014 – there is no alternative to peace.
