In Anticipation of December 5, International Volunteer Day

The International Volunteer Day was declared by the UN Assembly, on November 17, 1985. From that year on, the International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development has been observed on November 5.The goal is to draw attention to all volunteer activities, putting a spotlight on their activities on a local, national and international level, and encouraging more people to volunteer. People with good will, as they are referred to, do not expect to be compensated for their work in anything but moral and social satisfaction, and consider helping and dedicating their time to others to be an expression of humaneness, solidarity and reciprocity, and a sense of responsibility for one’s community.

This year, the Institute for Youth Development KULT, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Justice and UN Volunteers will start an online quiz, on December 5, at 12 pm, with questions about the provisions in the Law on Volunteering of FBiH and the Law on Volunteering of RSThe quiz will be live until 11:59 pm, December 5, 2013.

All citizens of BiH can participate and have a chance to win a tablet.

We hope that volunteers will take advantage of this opportunity to familiarise themselves with the rights and obligations they are legally entitled and subject to.

Take the quiz here.
