Youth Taking Matters into Their Own Hands!

Representatives of youth organizations of 9 BiH parliamentary parties signed the Declaration on Youth Interests in Bosnia and Herzegovina on August 24, 2016 in Sarajevo.

The Declaration was signed by representatives of the Democratic Front, the Croatian Democratic Community of BiH, the Croatian Democratic Community 1990, the Social Democratic Movement, Our Party, the Party of Democratic Progress, the Social Democratic Party of BiH, the Serbian Democratic Party and the Party of Democratic Action, although the call for cooperation in developing the Declaration was addressed to all parliamentary parties at state and entity level.

As emphasized, the aims of the declaration are to achieve a better economic position of youth, a better educational system, a greater engagement of youth in politics, a greater participation of youth in the process of EU integrations, and a greater transparency in decision-making.

The Declaration signatories, as a part of their political parties and wider, will advocate for the stated principles, which should contribute in long term to developing a better atmosphere and resolving concrete youth-related problems.

The initiative to adopt the Declaration was started by “Rokada – Network of Youth Politicians”, a non-formal group of youth representatives of political parties for cooperation between parties and entities.

The ceremony of signing the Declaration on Youth Interests was attended by representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT as the only representatives from the NGO sector.
