On the occasion of celebrating the International Youth Day, the opening ceremony of the Youth Centre in Alipašino Polje has been organised today on 13 August, 2012. The main purpose of the Youth Centre is to provide space for the implementation of youth projects in accordance with the Youth Law of the Federation of BiH, Youth Strategy of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo and Operational Plan IPA Project YOUTH ADRINET.

“This activity demonstrates the commitment of the local community, which has more than 20.000 young people, to develop a youth policy aimed at improving the position of young people in society,” said the Mayor Mr. Ĺ uman, noting that many youth issues are present in our country and that they deserve priority treatment. This youth project has also been supported by the Mayor of Sarajevo Alija Behmen who stressed that the state has to assume the role of the initiator of changes that will improve the position of young people. This centre will be open daily from 08:00 to 16:00, and will be available to all formal and informal groups of young people who do not have proper space for conducting creative program activities. This project has been supported by the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo through cooperation with the IPA Adriatic Programme of the European Commission under the project YOUTH ADRINET.
