Youth Can Start Changing Things on October 7, Says Jerlagić During Coffee Time With…

The political scene is oversaturated with worn out rhetoric, and this country needs change. This is how presidential candidate Amir Jerlagić started his Coffee Time With… youth from all across BiH, held as a part of the cycle Coffee Time With… BiH Presidential Candidates, implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT.

Youth spoke about reconciliations, better living conditions, and asked Mr Jerlagić for concrete answers and what he plans to do if he is elected into the Presidency.

Youth asked who he wants on his team, how can BiH create a better image in the world, what will our EU path look like, among other questions.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT is know for its Coffee Time With, events providing meaningful encounters of public figures, politicians, young people and other inspirational and successful BiH citizents with groups of youth, allowing them to discuss their experience, ideas and public issues relevant to youth.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT intends to organize informal meetings of youth with presidential candidates from June through October 2018. The next Coffee Time with be held on July 3, when youth will have an opportunity to talk to Mirsad Hadžikadić, independent presidential candidate.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina there are 700,000 youth, defined by law as persons between 15 and 30 years of age. They majority of youth are part of the electorate, and the Institute for Youth Development KULT wants to give them a chance to make an informed decision. We believe that youth should and must be included in the programs of political parties in BiH and it’s high time for the top level of government to prioritize youth in their discourse.

On the other hand, this will allow elected officials to tailor their election programs to actual needs of BiH youth who elected them.
