It is imperative to synchronize the work of different support programs, representatives of local communities, public employment services, ministries and other organizations supporting entrepreneurship in BiH – this was one of the conclusions of the 6th Forum of Employment Services “Start Something Good”.
The Forum was held on December 11, 2018 in Sarajevo, by the Labour and Employment Agency of BiH, with the support of the Youth Employment Project (YEP) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The goal of the Forum was to encourage a discussion on topics crucial for improving the entrepreneurial ecosystem in BiH: profiling and training entrepreneurs, mentorship in entrepreneurship, models for financial support and social entrepreneurship. The Forum included a presentation of the results of YEP’s Business Idea Incubator who helped activate more than 1200 potential entrepreneurs in 2018 and provided financial and professional support in launching more than 100 new business ventures. The YEP Business Idea Incubator was implemented in cooperation with 32 local communities.
As noted during this Forum that included young entrepreneurs, it is necessary to work on creating local employment action plans and local partnerships for employment, which will allow different stakeholders to pool their resources thus increasing the amount of fund and the number of end users.
The Forum was attended by a representative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
