Vote Match BiH – Revealing Voting Preferences in Elections

The electorate in BiH is underinformed on programmes and views of BiH parties on matters directly concerning them. The political uninformedness of most BiH population is a problem to be soved through a long-term process of raising their political awareness. As a shortcut to solving this burning issue often resulted in voting for an inadequate candidate or a party, the Institute for Youth Development KULT has started a process of making online tools for ascertaining voting preferences in elections.

Vote Match BiH is an online election quiz, providing users as a result with information on which political subjects represent their interests. The aim of such a tool is to inform users on political differences between subjects, encourage voters to vote and thus increase the turnout, promote political debate aand make elections appealing dor average voters.

Meeting of the Institute’s representatives with the representatives of ProDemos – House for Democracy and the Rule of Law (Netherlands) and Bundeszentrale fĂĽr politische Bildung / BPB (Germany), creators of Vote Match online tools, was held in IlidĹľa from 30th June to 1st July 2014. During the meeting, there was discussion on the beginning of the process of making Vote Match BiH, which will be presented to users and the public in September 2014. Developers of the tool used in Europe for many years shared valuable experience in its use and promotion with the Institute’s representatives.
