The Institite for Youth Development KULT and the Ilidža Municipality, in cooperation with schools in Ilidža are implementing a simulation called “Youth Make Decisions”, which is part of the “Youth Decide on Democracy Programme” – a training programme spanning the course of several months, attended by youth from BiH, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia and Macedonia.
The “Youth Make Decisions Simulation” comprises lectures and an interactive section allowing the participants to take on the role of the media, civil society and political parties, thus familiarizing themselves with the lobbying process, decision making and direct efforts to defend their personal stance as well as the stance of the group they belonged to during the simulation, said the project coordinator at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA – Selma Suljevi?.
This winter, the simulation was also held at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA in IlidĹľa. 40 students from 4 high schools from IlidĹľa took part in the initiative, which gathered all the high schools in IlidĹľa around a single project. During the simulation held at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA, all the participants will go through training courses which will provide them with details on the role of the media in the election process, the role of political parties and the civil society. The concept of the simulation was adapted to youth so they could learn about what actually happens in real life. This concept showed that youth learn best through this kind of initiative. So far, a significant number of young people showed interest in all of the simulations held by the Institute for Youth Development KULT, stated the trainer, Hajrudin Solak.
The “Youth Make Decisions” simulation is held at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA, in Ilidža, Banjska ul. 2.
