Second Regional Conference Mlada Evropa in Banja Luka

The Institute for Youth Development KULT, in cooperation with the German Embassy, is continuing with the implementation of activities within the Mlada Evropa initiative. After the international youth conference held in Sarajevo, from June 26 to July 4, 2014, and the first regional conference in Mostar, on November 7, 2014, time has come for the second of the three planned regional conferences. The second conference will be held in Banjaluka and the third will be held in Tuzla.

The regional conference will serve as a meeting point for youth officers, youth leaders, representatives of youth councils, representatives od the government sector, and will foster a discussion on the position of youth and ways of improving it. 

This will be a two-part conference. During the first part, the participants will be addressed by Mr Jens Wagner, Cultural Attachee of the German Embassy and representatives of the government sector in BiH responsible for youth issues. After the introductory and welcome speeches, the participants will take part in workshops on the following topics: “Overcoming ethnic divisions”, “International connections and “Active citizenship”. 

The second part of the conference will be dedicated to a SWOT analysis focusing on youth, with the ultimate goal of analysing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by youth in BiH.

After the final regional conference, conclusions from all the conferences will be published in a document detailing the positions of youth and offering solutions to youth problems.
