Proposal Laws Under Consideration of the Committees for Budget and Finance of PSBiH, April-June 2014

The Institute for Youth Development KULT, as part of the initiative Strengthening Governing Institutions and Processes in BiH is cooperating with Committees on budget and finance of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in order to contribute to creating policies in the process of law-making, preparing, discussing, adopting and implementing the budget; strengthening the system of public accountability and transparency; strengthening the role and capacity of women in government institutions, processes and systems.

The Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has issued a new edition of the Assembly’s bulletin which provides a summary of all work conducted and the activities undertaken by this legislative institution from April to June 2014.

The bulletin provides an overview of the law proposals currently being considered by the Parliament in the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples, and their current status.

In the aforementioned period, the Committee for Budget and Finances of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly supported the Proposal Law on Public procurements, which was also adopted by the House of Peoples.

In the same period, the Committee supported the Proposal Law on Determining the Amount of Public Employee Salaries, but did not support the Proposal Law on Amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax. The Committee also supported the principles of the Proposal Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Funding the Institutions of BiH which was rejected at the Assembly’s session, which eliminated it from consideration in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
