On 20th November, 2018, an entrepreneurship tournament was held at the Sarajevo City Hall, where 22 entrepreneurs competed for funds for developing their businesses.
Entrepreneurs from the incubators of the Mozaik Foundation and Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERBA, supported by the European Fund for South East Europe (EFSE) Entrepreneurship Academy presented their business ideas, plans and results to investors. The ones with the most potential were awarded funds ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 EUR, and non-financial prizes such as 6 months of mentorship.
The EFSE Entrepreneurship Academy aims to encourage and strengthen small entrepreneurs, provide them with access to funding, thus improving the entrepreneurial climate in BiH. In addition to the competition and announcing the winners, this event included a panel containing discussions on strengthening the ecosystem for developing entrepreneurship. The event was attended by representatives of the financial sectors, diplomatic corps, various levels of government in BiH, the business sector from BiH and the region, and many EFSE partners. The event was attended by a representative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
