Foundations to build the Student Pavilion from recycled materials will be set up in August and the building will commence on September 9, 2016.
Sanela Klari?, the Head of the Department for Architecture of the BURCH University and the Green Council President, announced the beginning of works during a joint meeting of project participants held on July 21, 2016 at the International BURCH University.
As announced, the students will be participating in performing the works as a part of the summer school and the works should last for 14 days.
The Student Pavilion will be built mostly from recycled materials and it is the first pavilion of this type in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Natural materials such as wool and straw will be used in building and the aim is to achieve energy efficiency and indicate the ecologic and economic benefits in producing and using autochthonous BiH isolation materials.
“Natural materials, in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is abundant, have always been used for building in our country, and they are particularly valued today due to their isolation characteristics. Through building this object we would like to emphasize the importance of recycling old materials and a decrease of waste” – stated Sanela Klari?, the Green Council Association President.
The area will be used for organizing exhibitions, presentations, and for quality leisure time and exchanging experiences between students.
The building of the Student Pavilion from recycled material was also supported by the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
