Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Directorate for European Integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in collaboration with the project entitled Support for the Government of BiH in the Process of EU Integrations and Coordinating the EU Aid – Stage III and TASCO Project – Office in BiH, held a seminar on the topic of presenting the Europe for Citizens Programme at Hollywood Hotel. Besides representatives of the civil society organisations, the seminar was also attended by representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
The primary aim of the seminar was to present the Programme as well as the possibilities it provides for the civil society organisations and local self-management units. Also, experiences of the Republic of Croatia with the accession process and implementation of the Programme were presented at the seminar.
Europe for Citizens is a programme of the Community that aims to create active European citizenship as well as provide support to involvment of citizens in the EU integration process. The purpose of the programme is to strengthen participation of citizens in the EU integration process through discussion and exchange of opinions regarding the EU and to strengthen European identity as well as to advocate intercultural dialogue and understanding amongst the citizens of EU countries.
The countries of Western Balkans, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, are provided with the opportunity to participate in the programmes of the Community in order to support their efforts on the road to European integrations.
The participants of the seminar were addressed by representatives of the Ministry of Justice of BiH, the Delegation of EU in BiH, the Directorate of European Integrations, as well as representatives of TASCO Project in BiH.
