The representative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT Nejra Neimarlija Roi? participated in the first conference of the project The Dialogue for the Future based on the common initiative of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Secretary General of the United Nations. The first conference was organised at the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH on 22 April 2015.
The aim of the initiative The Dialogue for the Future is to create space for dialogue that would allow a peacebuilding process in the country, promote coexistence and multicultural understanding through education and culture, placing special emphasis on youth. The initiative is designed to increase participation, awareness and influence of youth in policy dialogue related to youth issues that influence the development programme and the reforms in BiH.
At the event, the members of the Presidency of BiH signed the Declaration of Dialogue Platform, a mechanism that aims to connect high-level decision makers with civil society and citizens, with emphasis on youth.
During the event, representatives of the non-governmental sector discussed the topics regarding youth and culture and education through three panels. In the first session, which focused on the topic of youth, all the members of the Presidency of BiH were present and they also participated in the discussion, inspired by attitudes of participating youth. The most important youth problems, such as unemployment, youth leaving BiH and their lack of involvement in decision-making processes were discussed.
The project The Dialogue for the Future is being implemented by: UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, with the partnership of the Presidency of BiH and the financial aid of the United Nations Peacebuilding Support Office.
