A Founding Assembly of Youth Council of West Herzegovina was held last night in Grude. This Council consists of three local Youth Councils, of Municipalities of Grude i Posušje and the town of Široki Brijeg.
Mate Lon?ar from Posušje was appointed President of Youth Council of West Herzegovina, and his Vice President is Josip Zelenika from Ĺ iroki Brijeg. The Committee Chairman is Martin KondĹľa (from Grude) and his Deputee is David Naletili? (from Ĺ iroki Brijeg). Josipa Zori? from Grude was appointed as the Secretary. Mate Lon?ar, the President of Youth Council of West Herzegovina emphasized that youth of West Herzegovina deserve to have the same opportunities as youth in the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “We joined forces, we will work as much as we can and in accordance with our abilities and I am certain that our effort will not be wasted” – Lon?ar added. The Founding Assembly was attended by RuĹľica Mikuli?, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of West Herzegovina Canton who emphasized that the world is left to the young and that the efforts of those young people will certainly be acknowledged. On behalf of the host, Municipality of Grude, Municipal Youth Officer Sre?ko Mikuli? addressed those present and wished the Youth Council good luck and plenty of success in their work.
By establishing the Youth Council of West Herzegovina, which is the 6th cantonal council in FBiH, conditions were fulfilled to form an umbrella council, the Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Founding Assembly was attended by representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
