Certificates for UMiDp Participants

The Institute for Youth Development KULT awarded certificates to the second generation of participants of the Learn, Think and Act for Young Political Leaders.

On July 17, 2019 in Sarajevo a formal certificate award ceremony was held for participants from 12 political parties from BiH, who successfully completed the training.

UMiDp is intended to motivate young politicians to actively advocate and lobby the government to solve some of the problems youth face in their local communities, setting and example for other young people and politicians and showing the power of political participation and action.

“Not everything in politics works like you see on TV. During the training, we saw that politicians can reach an agreement even if they come from different parties. This training showed me how much I can do, and all the things I can change, and that’s what I intend to do.” – said Rijad Lemezan, participant from Sarajevo.

During the certificate award ceremony, the Institute signed contracts with participants who are launching local civil initiatives in their communities, and intends to support them.

Participants from Visoko launched an intiative to subsidize heating bills for young couples, participants from Široki Brijeg will support young entrepreneurs, and local communities Batković and Dizdaruša will get a space for children and youth.

“I feel much more motivated after the training. I saw that there’s plenty of opportunities for action, and I’ve already initiated the development of a youth strategy in my community. I’ll keep on fighting.” – said Antonija Banožić, participant from Široki Brijeg.

The goal of the training Learn, Think and Act for Young Political Leaders is to empower young members of various political parties registered in BiH, ages 18-30, to build the political career they want and to work on improving the position of young people in BiH.
