The Entrepreneurial Fund for Youth awarded funds for launching businesses owned by four young people. Grant agreements were signed, and this type of support is expected to contribute to developing sustainable businesses and creating jobs for youth.
For Nedim Sabljaković, a young IT professional, these funds are the first step forward after working for years for foreign companies.
“My idea is opening a studio for developing video games, and after years of working for eminent foreign companies, I decided that our city should have something like this too”, said Nedim.
The Entrepreneurial Fund for Youth uses joint funds of the local self-government units and the Institute for Youth Development KULT, with the support of the Kingdom of Sweden, to support the development of entrepreneurship and employment of young people from 8 municipalities and cities, and the City of Cazin is one of the communities that decided to take part in the project.
“These are very important projects because they’re intended to encourage youth and steer them towards us, help them network and start their business. Their business ideas are a promising step in the right direction, and the City’s support is guaranteed, both for helping youth develop their busiensses, and participating in similar projects in the future.” – said Nermin Ogrešević, Mayor of Cazin.
The Entrepreneurial Fund for Youth has a total of 400,000 BAM, and will support 50-100 youth-owned businesses. So far, the Fund has supported businesses in the Municipality Stari Grad Sarajevo, Municipality Jajce, Municipality Novi Travnik, Municipality Centar Sarajevo, Municipality Modriča, City of Cazin and City of Trebinje.
