Empowering Students Through Practical Work in Companies

Emina Krnjić, one of the Institute for Youth Development KULT’s scholarship holders, was awarded a certificate during the final ceremony of the STEP (Student Training and Empowerment Program) held on 10 May 2018 in Sarajevo.

The Institute provided Emina with three months of practical work through the STEP program, which allows students with practical work in their field, in BiH businesses and organizations, in order to improve their employability.

The STEP program organized trainings before offering participants opportunities for practical work, teaching them how to write a CV and motivational letter, how to fill out a job application, basic computer skills, communication, public speaking and presentation skills, and how to handle job interviews.

The goal of the program was to provide nonformal education and work experience, and change the general perception that there is no future for youth in BiH, by allowing youth to cooperate with businesses and organizations and gain experience while learning through work.

During the final ceremony, the businesses and organizations that supported the program received certificates of appreciation.
