Institute Attends Seminar of Committee on Finance and Budget of Parliamentary Assembly’s House of Peoples

On 31 March and 1 April 2015, a representative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT Nejra Neimarlija Roi? participated at the introductory seminar of the BiH Committee on Finance and Budget of Parliamentary Assembly’s House of Peoples.

Focusing on the key information from the previous sessions of the Committee, the seminar in Kupres aimed for the Committee to continue working as efficiently as possible on unsolved issues that had risen during the new term of office. The seminar was organised on the initiative of the Project for Strengthening the Governmental Institutions and Processes in BiH (SGIP), financed by the American Agency for International Development (USAID). During the seminar, the members of the Committee on Finance and Budget of the House of Peoples were introduced with the key issues within the Committee’s jurisdiction, keeping in mind the results that had been accomplished in the areas of budget and public auditory, and focusing on the issues that might rise as priorities during the new term of office. Besides the Committee members, active participants of the seminar were the representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Audit Office of BiH, the Swedish Audit Office and the representatives of the SGIP project. 

On the first day of the seminar, materials related to the administrative and functional actions of the Commission were reviewed. Then, the representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH and the Auditory Office of BiH introduced the participants with the most important issues related to the annual cycle of budget planning and implementation, as well as with the content of the financial audit. On the second day of the seminar, the representatives of the Auditory Office in BiH presented key information about the efficiency audits, together with the representative of the Swedish Auditory Office. The SGIP project supported the programme content of the seminar in a technical sense by providing additional remarks and analyses. The meeting ended with an open dialogue regarding the priorities in Committee’s work for the following period.
