Institute for Youth Development activists spent the weekend discussing stereotypes with Sarajevans. Youth, and those a bit older, identified with the high profile stereoTYPE.
StereoTYPES are social, cool, trendy, respect differences, do not justify unequal opportunities, especially in gender, respect others regardless of being male or female and advocate equal rights atmosphere.
StereoTYPES live in our society as of this weekend. They began healing and breaking the stereotype on female jobs fever. Their strength is used for overcoming the double burden syndrome imposed to female citizens. They are ready to share choirs, beause they live in a household as well and consume the benefits satisfying their needs. By sharing choirs, they have time for professional achievements as women. They are a powerfull support in achiving this and overcoming obstacles society imposes in their very first steps.
They can cook for themselves because the cooking StereoTYPES are good chefs. They wash their clothes because a clean StereoTYPE is a straight A. They iron, but are not boring. A vacuuming StereoTYPE kicks up dust. They are responsible and do not behave like babies.
StereoTYPES passionatelyadvocate Orange Day in prevention of violence against women and girls marked on every 25th of the month. They break stereotypes not being aware that they are one of the reasons for the violence.
We hope you are painted in orange today to promote the prevention and you actively oppose this human rights violation and its causers.
