Youth Council of FBiH To Be Established by 2016

Representatives of 6 cantonal Youth Councils have arranged to establish an umbrella youth body in this BiH entity during the previous weekend. The meeting was held at the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA and the representatives of Youth Councils, among other things, defined the Statute of the Youth Council of FBiH and discussed the future members of the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board and managment.

Youth Council of FBiH should be established by no later than the end of this year. Mate Lon?ar, the President of the Youth Council of the County of West Herzegovina says that the establishing session should be held in mid-December in Sarajevo. “I am more than pleased. The Youth Council of the County of West Herzegovina is ready for establishing the Youth Council of FBiH. We also discussed the candidates for managment of the Council and there is definite progress” – emphasized Mate Lon?ar from the Youth Council of the County of West Herzegovina. Establishing the Youth Council of the Federation is conditioned by Youth Law, adds Lon?ar. “The Federal Council will work from the start. We will give our best to help in resolving the youth issue in the Federation of BiH. We will work on a more quality implementation of Youth Law” – concluded Lon?ar.   

The meeting of the cantonal Youth Councils was also attended by Adis Salki?, the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports’ Assistant, who expressed to be glad to see that the estalishment of an umbrella body for youth in the Federation is becoming more certain. He promised to provide support that is extremely important for youth. “I hope that the cooperation between Youth Council of the Federation and the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports will be very good and serve as an example, both for youth and the whole BiH society, as an example that hard work and diligence indeed pay off. I hope that through establishing the Youth Coucil, the Youth Law will finally be implemented” – says Mirela Geko, the representative of the Youth Council of the Sarajevo Canton. Mirel Bijedi?, the representative of the Youth Council of the Tuzla Canton, has a similar opinion. “I hope that mechanisms for resolving youth problems in the Federation will finally be established” – concluded Bijedi?. 

Representatives of cantonal Youth Councils also discussed the visual identity of the Youth Council of FBiH.
