How can the economic situation in BiH be improved? How can we help business owners and encourage youth to start their own businesses? These were some of the topics discussed during a meeting between Emanuel Salinas, the World Bank’s Country Manager for BiH and representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
The World Bank’s Country Manager talked to the Institute’s representatives about our current activities and initiatives, and was particularly interested in youth involvement in the economy, improving youth participation and encouraging young women to start their own businesses.
During the meeting, the Institute presented our initiative BH Business Site, implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT. This aim of this initiative is to amend the Law on VAT, analyse budget incentives provided for the business sector, providing recommendations for improving the business environment in BiH.
The Institute and the World Bank share values that entail strengthening the parts of society and areas that contribute the most to encouraging economic growth and development of the country.
The World Bank was founded in 1994 and has more than 400 offices around the world. The role of the World Bank is providing financial and technical assistance to developing countries and supporting countries in fighting poverty. The World Bank also allows people to help themselves and their environment by providing resources, i.e. sharing knowledge, building capacities and forging partnerships in the public and private sectors.
