UMiD Summer School

Communication, empowerment and human rights were some of the topics within the summer school part of “Learn, Think and Act!” training for the 13th generation of participants, held from July 15 to July 21 in Sarajevo.

The participants learned about public relations, communication with the media, social networks, emotions, the importance of respecting human rights, and they had the opportunity to talk to inspiring people from the BiH public life.

During the “Coffee Time With…” event, the participants talked to Mladen Obrenović, a news reporter for Al Jazeera. During these two hours, Mr Obrenović shared his experience acquired throughout his long career as a news reporter, which allowed him to meet many important public figures.

The participants also took part in Coffee Time With… Mirsad Hadžikadić, independent presidential candidate. This is one in a series of events connecting youth with presidential candidates, organized by the Institute for Youth Development KULT from June to October 2018.

“Learn, Think and Act!” is an officially recognized type of non-formal education that allows youth to acquire various competencies that will improve their competitiveness on the labour market. It comprises seminars, practical exercises and volunteer work. UMiD is intended for youth under 30.
