Little hands do big work together! – this is the motto of the people in Vukoslavlje, who show the importance of willpower and the power of activism and cooperation every day.
In Vukosavlje, a small town with a little over 4500 inhabitants, children learn about activism and work from an early age. This is evident in the exhibition organized by members of a citizens’ association called “Give Me a Hand”, showcasing children’s art.
Students from the local school made colourful wooden box, and sold them to support the work of the Association of parents of children and youth with developmental disabilities and persons with disabilities “Give Me a Hand” which provides support to parents and children with developmental disabilities in the municipality of Vukosavlje.
The association has been active in the local community for years, with a substantial number of volunteers who act as the driving force in this community.
The implementation of this activity was supported by the Institute for Youth Development KULT, as one of the local civil initiatives implemented across BiH.
A local civil initiative (LGI) is an activity undertaken by citizens and intended to improve the quality of life in their community and society. Citizens can take part in civic activities individually or as a group, with the goal of drawing attention to and solving concrete problems in their community.
