Sixth Annual Ysafe BiH Conference

At Holywood Hotel in Sarajevo a two-day Sixth BE SAFE – YSAFE BiH Conference was held, organised by XY Association. 

Tibor Kela, a peer educator from Banja Luka, had the honour of opening the conference in front of over 150 participants, peer educators, medicine workers, ministry of health representatives from both entities, UNDP, World Vision, Friendly Youth Health Centres and other respected guests.

In two days of the conference, on joint and separate sessions, the participants spoke on topics such as: youth in HIV prevention, role of friendly youth health centres in preventing HIV.  

“Under the slogan of the conference BE SAFE – YSAFE BiH, the goal is to shift the public focus on youth activities and achievements in the field of preventing HIV, promoting healthy lifestyle as well as sexual and reproductive health in general (SHR)”, emphasized the Director of XY Association.  

A valuable and interesting part of the conference programme was the exhibition of friendly youth centres posters (PCZM). In the end of June the number of network members increased from 13 to 23.  

At the end of the conference, commendations were awarded to partner non-governmental orgainsations and heath centres included in the Global Fund Programme, i.e. the Friendly Youth Health Centres Network. The conference was realised with the support of UNDP and World Vision BiH.
