Regional Volunteerism Seminar

South Eastern European Youth Network (SEEYN) organised a five-day regional seminar in Sarajevo on the topic South-Eastern Europen Youth for 2011 European Volunteering Year and the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of International Volunteerism Year. A represenatative from KULT attended the working section of the seminar, that started on June 21 and lasted until Saturday, June 25.  

The basic aim of the seminar was to enable interaction between firms, public institutions and civil society organisations from South-Eastern European countries, the European Union and the United States of America. During the working days, the participants of the seminar exchanged information and experiences on the aims of 2011 European Volunteering Year, the initiatives for celebrating this year in Europe and the South-Eastern Europe, volunteerism concept and practices in BiH and the region, law regulations and volunteering opportunities at the European level and in individual countries of the region.

Seminar participants were addressed by the representatives of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Mission in BiH, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Sarajevo and the representatives of the Centre for Promoting Civil Society, SEEYN and TACSO projects in BiH. The seminar was supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Mission in BiH, The EU programme Youth in Action, TASCO office in BiH and the Centre for Promoting Civil Society.
