Public Call for Learn, Think and Act! Generation 14!

WHO? The Institute for Youth Development KULT is implementing a 1-year training program for young leaders UMID (Learn, Think and Act!), Generation 14. 

WHAT? UMiD allows you to become an active leader in your local community and help solve youth issues, but it will also help you prepare for building a career, you will meet new friends, learn new skills, socialize and grow as a person. 

HOW? The training will consist of seven 2-day workshops and a sumer school that will teach you a lot about these topics:

  • How can you become an active citizen and encourage your peers to get invoved in solving problems in your community?
  • How does assigning roles in a team help you become a better leader?
  • How can you convince decision-makers and other participants in yout local community to provide concrete support to youth?
  • Does your gender affect the importance of your work in the community?
  • How can you learn about yourself and grow as a person?
  • How should you navigate the business world?

Training modules:

– Team work and leadership

– Civil activism and volunteering

– Youth policy

– Writing and implementing projects

– Public advocacy and lobbying

– Public relations

– Self-empowerment

– Human rights

– Conflict resolution

– Jobseeking

During the training, you will have the opportunity to work with other young people to solve an existing problem or meet a need in the local community, and the Institute will provide yout with advice and financial support. 

You will sign a training agreement, and all successful participants will receive a certificate. The Institute will keep track of your activist and professional development, and support you after the training as well.  

WHEN? Workshops will be held once a month, starting at the end of January 2019, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. During the summer there will be a summer school. Modules will be held on the last Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the month. The Institute reserves the right to change the dates and times, and the participants will be notified of any changes in due time. 

WHERE? Our trainings will be held at the Educational-Leisure Center for Youth SPAJALICA in Ilidža.

EXPENSES? Don’t worry about expenses. The Institute will pay for travel, meals and accommodation expenses. 

APPLY! If you’re between 18 and 30 years old, live in BiH and you’re interested in being a part of the 14th UMiD generation, write a text on something you want to change in your community and how you would do it. The text should not be longer than one A4 page of Verdana 10. If you prefer to express yourself in a video or other type of media, feel free to do so. The video should not exceed 3 minutes.
