From November 30 to December 3 a conference was held in Bruxells entitled “Promoting Social Inclusion”, organised by the European Training Foundation.
The aim of the conference was to promote social inclusion and the struggle against poverty through cooperation in the area of education, training and employment in the neighbouring countries of the European Union.
Institute for Youth Development KULT was the representative of the non-governmental sector of BiH, that focuses od social inclusion of youth as well.
The main three components of the conference were: youth employment, gender equality in social inclusion, as well as partnership at a local, national and international level for improving methods of social inclusion.
Some of the orators were: Jerzy Buzek (President of EU Parliament), Xavier Prats (Director of the EU Social Fund), Victoria Soriano (Director’s Assistant of the European Agency of Development), Bruno Riganese (Director of CISCO), as well as many other international experts on the subject.
Jerry Buzek emphasized that it is important for the Balkan countries, especially the NGOs, to use the opportunity to exchange ideas with the EU partners in order to improve the projects that focus on that topic.
The participants of the conference also had the opportunity to visit the institutions of the European Commission and the European Parliament and to introduce themselves with their work.
