On the Road to Reform…

The Initiative for Local Governments was presented in Sarajevo, on October 18, 2017.

The Initiative will be led by international experts, with the aim of helping entities and local governments identify problems that prevent them from being at the disposal of citizens. 

Over the next few months, representatives of local governments from the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be visited by a special committee tasked with collecting all information about everyday problems in healthcare, public order and security, municipal services and local economic development.

This Initiative should be a contribution to the reforms announced by the Government of FBiH. Republika Srpska also recently adopted a local government reform strategy.

The presentation of the Initiative was attended, among other officials, by the FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novali?, and the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
