The tenth cycle of the My Choice project took place from 8 April to 27 May 2013, including 8 educational and interactive workshops based on team work, active and equal participation of all its participants, experiential learning, and interactive and cooperative teaching strategies. The project’s objective is to upgrade the knowledge and skills of youth aged from 18 to 30, to choose better partners and create more functional partnerships. The project was conducted by the Institute for Youth Development KULT, in cooperation with the Public Institution of the Canton – Family Counselling. The workshop leader was not only the source of knowledge, but also a moderator, who created conditions and encouraged participants to acquire new knowledge through interaction and experience exchange, to develop their skills and conscience about different issues and phenomena essential for a functional partnership.
This kind of approach helps young people to enter into marriages or partnerships more objectively, with clear attitudes about the difference between relationships based on love and on sex, and realizing that love is not the only thing that makes a good partnership, but there are also other components necessary for it to function properly, such as: communication skills, recognizing and acknowledging the partner’s needs, and expressing your own needs in a partnership.
After the initial interviews of the applicants were completed, a group was formed, consisting of 18 young people who participated in this cycle’s workshops.
After the final workshop, a ceremony was staged, where the participants were awarded with certificates for participating in the project, accompanied by music and snacks. The ceremony ended in the Educational-Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA, with everyone having a good time.
