Event: Dialogue with Youth of Sarajevo Canton

WHAT?
The Government of Sarajevo Canton is currently developing the first youth strategy in Sarajevo Canton. The process is coordinated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton. The Institute for Youth Development KULT is providing expert and advisory support to the Ministry in this process.
In 2016, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, in cooperation with the Institute for Youth Development KULT, conducted a survey on the needs and problems of youth in the Sarajevo Canton, which was used as the starting point for developing a youth strategy. In order to better understand the position of youth, and develop a high-quality strategy, the Ministry will engage youth in a dialogue to gauge their opinions and collect suggestions for developing this strategic document, which is extremely important for youth in Sarajevo Canton.
Dialogue with youth of Sarajevo Canton is intended for youth organizations, civil society organizations dealing with youth and youth councils in Sarajevo Canton, and aims to start a dialogue on developing a cantonal youth strategy.
This event will offer at least 50 participants from relevant organizations and institutions with the opportunity to engage in dialogue on youth strategies.
HOW?
The event “Dialogue with youth of Sarajevo Canton” will start a dialogue among relevant institutions and organizations on 7 different topics:
- Labour, employment, youth entrepreneurship,
- Youth education and science,
- Youth social care,
- Youth healthcare,
- Culture and sports,
- Youth activism (participation, volunteering and mobility),
- Youth safety.
Data recommendations and opinions from all events concerning these topics will be at the disposal of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton when developing a draft youth strategy for Sarajevo Canton.
WHO IS THE ORGANIZER?
Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton in cooperation with the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
WHEN AND WHERE?
The event will be held on November 24, 2017, at 10:00 am at Hotel Hills in IlidĹľa.
HOW TO APPLY?
All NGOs active in Sarajevo Canton can apply to participate, if their work concerns at least one of the listed topics.
Participants will be selected in accordance with the following criteria:
- Number and relevance of activities/projects implemented by the organizations for the last two years in the are relevant to the topic they are applying for,
- Number and relevance of partnerships/cooperation on activities/projects with government institutions in charge of a particular area,
- Number and relevance of activities/projects in a relevant area that were intended exclusively for youth (age: 15-30).
If the same organization wants to apply to take part in several thematic areas, they have to fill out applications for each area separately, and one representative can only apply for one topic.
