Institute’s Executive Director Meeting With German Head of Diplomacy

Steinmeier: Economy reforms are the new course of BiH:

Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany visited Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jasmin Beši?, the Institute’s Executive Director had the chance to discuss current topics with Steinmeier during his visit. Steinmeier thereby accentuated the importance of economy reforms because the political reforms ended without success. 

„Economy reforms are what is important for young people in BiH who have no job and are leaving the country because of a lack of economic incentives“, said Jasmin Beši?, Institute for Youth Development KULT Executive Director, adding that the legal system organisation through Constitutional reforms and adopting all laws is necessary for BiH – EU accession, and that BiH youth can expect Germany’s support in that as well.  

“Ten years ago, Germany was perceived as a sick person on their deathbed, however, through reform processes, Germany made it out of crisis. This would be possible in BiH as well, if the political elite wanted it. “, said the German Head of Diplomacy. 

Beši? mentioned that the Institute will offer youth a tool named Izboromat, by the model of Germany or Netherlands, which helps young people choose a political party which is most alike to their ideas. German Embassy in Sarajevo will help the Institute with this.

The inevitable topic was the BiH floods which have created an immense damage. Germany already helped reducing the damage through its organisations, and the Institute will be at their disposal throughout this.
