High School Students from Sarajevo Employed for One Day

The Institute for Youth Development KULT and the Educational-Leisure Centre for youth were the employers for a day to high school students from the First Bosniak High School from Sarajevo, who had the chance to be employed for a day, within the Social Day, a part of the Volunteer-Credit project, implemented across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

–          I am a participant and an integral part of the “Volunteer-Credit” project. My task was to spend a day at the Institute for Youth Development KULT where we were introduced to all employees. –after that, we were acquainted with the work procedures within a workday. I have primarily started to volunteer for the experience which will be of significant importance further in life, stated Bahtijar Naida, First Bosniak High School student.

High school students had the opportunity for all-day volunteering and direct acquainting with Institute’s work procedures thanks to the Institute for Youth Development KULT and the Educational-Leisure Centre Spajalica.

–         I chose “Volunteer-Credit” project to help and find out about the work procedures of a serious organisation. What we saw was that the workday comprises the most banal activities and the complicated procedures such as report writing, stated Ismail Lali? – “Volunteer-Credit” project volunteer.

The Social Day is organised yearly by the „Infohouse“ Association from Sarajevo in 63 towns across BiH, and a total of 100 high school students will have the chance to work for a day in over 150 institutions/firms/organisations.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT is “Infohouse”’s partner this year as well. Two volunteers form the First Bosniak High School volunteered at the Educational-Leisure Centre for youth SPAJALICA. They spent full working time here, following Spajalica’s work team activities. The volunteers are extremely satisfied, full of enthusiasm, and I hope they will keep the smile on their face until the end of the day. I hope we will continue to collaborate with the “Infohouse” Association, stated Educational-Leisure Centre manager Vesna Filipovi?.

The project aims to strengthen youth capacities to be able to assume responsibility for their professional future, local community development, and youth status improvement altogether. This is a rare opportunity for youth in BiH providing the opportunity to gain work experience.
