First Session of Working Group for Developing Federal Youth Strategy

On January 28, 2015, Assistant Federal Minister of Culture and Sports and the coordinator of the process of developing the first federal youth strategy, Mr Adis Salki? held the first meeting with the members of the Working group for developing the working text of the strategy. the first meeting of the Working group was held in Sarajevo, in the building of the Government of FBiH, at 12 am.

The first meeting was attended by:

  • Amila Gajevi? – Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy,

  • Jasmina Avdi? – Federal Ministry of Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War,

During the meeting, Assistant Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Mr Adis Salki? told the members about their tasks and the methodology that will be used in developing the strategy. Members of the Working group, after consulting with the institutions they work for, will submit first drafts containing strategic goals in their areas of expertise to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, by February 22, 2015 at the latest. They also agreed on holding a meeting with the chosen consultant, who will provide them with advisory support, between February 10 and 12, 2015. 

Representative of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, Rejan Igor Roi?, presented the members of the Working group with the results yielded by the Survey on the position and needs of youth in FBiH, conducted by the Institute in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and with the strategic documents of youth policies in other European countries. All of the aforementioned materials were sent to the members of the Working group. The members were also told about the process of founding the federal Youth Council as the umbrella youth organisation in FBiH, and the Council for Youth of FBiH, comprised of representatives of the ministries and the federal Youth Council. 

According to the decision adopted by the Government of FBiH on appointing the Working group, the Institute for Youth Development KULT will be acting as partner to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports in the process of developing the first youth strategy, by providing expert and advisory support in developing the working text of the youth strategy.
