The first meeting of the Working Group of the Una-Sana Canton Government for developing the Youth Strategy was held on Monday, 5 October 2015.
The procedure of developing this cantonal strategy was approved by the Government of Una-Sana Canton with a conclusion at the session in July this year, after Kenan Keserovi?, the DNZ representative at the Assembly of Una-Sana Canton, forwarded an initiative for its development in May.
With that same conclusion, the Institute for Youth Development KULT was appointed as the consulting and technical support in the process of developing the strategy. The meeting of the Working Group was attended by representatives of the Institute for Youth development KULT that presented the methodology of work to the members of the Working Group and clarified the role of the Institute in the process.
The development of cantonal strategies is conditioned by the Youth Law of FBiH youth. Katarina Vu?kovi? from the Institute for Youth Development KULT states that the Institute places a particular accent to youth participation in the process.
“We are very glad that the strategy development process is starting in this canton as well. The Institute for Youth Development KULT worked on developing around 30 local strategies in the previous period and is in the process of enacting the Federal Youth Strategy” – adds Vu?kovi?.
The purpose of enacting the Strategy is to improve the position of youth in the Una-Sana Canton through creating adequate conditions for a better and more efficient dialogue and an even more functional coordination of actors responsible for youth issues in Una-Sana Canton.
The next meeting of the Working Group for developing youth strategy is scheduled for November of this year.
