Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality in cooperation with the Institute of Economics in Sarajevo began drafting the Development Strategy for Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality for 2013 – 2016.
For this purpose, the first workshop was held on 17 September 2013 in the Municipality building, attended by Expert Team members of the Institute of Economics in Sarajevo, representatives of public and private sectors, NGO representatives, representatives of Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipal Council, foreign and local investors, international organizations, youth representatives, and representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
This document will be drafted over a period of two months and, in its drafted form, it should be presented to the Municipal Council in November 2013. After the adoption procedure, the Novi Grad Sarajevo Strategy Draft for 2013-2016 will be open for public discussion.
The drafting process will be based on continuous communication, of not only the members of the development team and work groups, but of all citizens, with the participation of public, private and civil sectors.
The drafting process will be open for suggestions and proposals from all citizens of Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality. Local communities will receive forms which can be used by thier residents to put forward their proposals, project ideas or projects, which they believe are essential for solving certain problems their community is facing, or projects they believe can improve the quality of their lives significantly.
Members of the local development team and work groups for business, social and environmental development issues are involved in the drafting process.
