The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo will soon have a new youth strategy.
The strategy will be based on research that will help identify the main problems and needs of youth in this municipality, and define priority areas. The strategy will define activities and measures to improve the status of youth in the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
“The process of developing the strategy will be supported with funds that the Municipality Novo Sarajevo awards to non-governmental organizations that implement initiatives important for this local community. The Municipality will fund activities of seventeen organizations dealing with education, culture, sports, supporting youth, environmental protection and support for children with disabilities. We believe that the development of a youth strategy is important for youth in this municipality.” – said Nedžad Koldžo, Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
The Institute for Youth Development KULT will conduct the necessary research and develop the youth strategy.
Pursuant to the Youth Law of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all levels of government are required to have youth strategies. A youth strategy is a document developed by government institutions and detailing a programmatic approach to youth work. It addresses youth problems and needs, strategic activities, goals and measures for their implementation.
