Call for Applicants for Peer Education Training Open

The Institute is conducting a peer education training on Human Trafficking in cooperation with the Caritas of Bishop’s conference of BiH, sponsored by the German International Cooperation Agency GIZ.

The three – day training course titled Human Trafficking: the current situation and ways to protect oneself will allow you and your friends to become peer educators in your local communities, and thus contribute in solving this problem.

This is a problem of global proportions, involving various criminal activities, such as: buying and selling, soliciting, transporting, harbouring and accommodating people for the purpose of exploitation through forced labour, forced prostitution/sexual exploitation, forced begging, forced marriage, slavery, organ removal or other types of exploitation.

Human trafficking is often wrongly equated with prostitution, smuggling of migrants, bad working conditions, as well as with certain traditions of different cultures. It presents a severe violation of human rights guaranteed by the legal instruments of BiH.

Young people will be acquainted through interactive methodology with the issue of human trafficking and the indicators of trafficking of human beings used for exploitation purposes. They will learn to recognize the dangers and (potential) victims of human trafficking in their communities and will be able to share this knowledge with their peers in their local communities afterwards.

The training will be held from 18 to 20 June in the facilities of the Educational – Leisure Centre for Youth SPAJALICA, at 2 Banjska Street in Ilidža. All expenses will be covered by the organizer.

If you are interested in applying for the training course and wish to become a peer educator on Human Trafficking; if you are between the ages of 18-30 and live in one of the following local communities:
