The Institute for Youth Development KULT and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton held a meeting where they discussed the development of youth policies. One of the conclusions from this meeting was that it is important to create programs and activities that benefit young people.
The youth strategy is currently being developed, and the Ministry is involving young people, representatives of youth organizations, organizations that work with young people, and municipal representatives in all stages of the development process to ensure that this document meets the needs of young people. The Institute will support the Ministry’s activities and put our capacities at their disposal to ensure the implementation of programs identified in the Strategy and other activities considered important by the Ministry. It is also very important to include youth officers from Sarajevo Canton, who actively work in all municipalities to improve the lives of young people.
The Institute has been supporting government institutions in developing and implementing youth policies for 20 years. We will continue to cooperate with this Ministry to ensure the success of initiatives like Sarajevo European Youth Capital and to improve the status of young people in areas such as education, employment, social and health care, youth mobility, culture, and sports. The Ministry’s willingness to cooperate on this issue demonstrates its commitment to addressing the various challenges young people face.
All cantons, municipalities, cities, entities, and the Brčko District of BiH are required to create and implement youth strategies. The Sarajevo Canton is currently drafting another strategic document.
