Trebinje Municipality Supports Youth Activities

Representatives of the project Recognition of UMiD as a training course for active youth participation visited the Municipality of Trebinje on 27 July 2012. They visited the Mayor’s Office where the meeting was held. The Mayor of the Municipality of Trebinje Dr. Dobroslav ?uk expressed his willingness to maintain cooperation with the Institute for Youth Development KULT as well as with the training course participants. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Department of Economics and Social Affairs Mrs. Ĺ˝eljka Kraljevi? and Mr. Duško Miljanovi?, who are in charge of the youth sector.

After a successful meeting held with the Mayor, a visit was made to the youth organisation Youth Centre Trebinje. During this visit, the discussion with Mr. Saša Pešikan revolved around the position of youth and their issues as well as the manner of addressing these issues. The Youth Centre Trebinje and KULT reached a cooperation agreement that will facilitate small initiatives to be launched by the project participants.

It is expected that the ceremony of signing the cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Trebinje will take place soon. Future cooperation between the Municipality of Trebinje and the Institute for Youth Development KULT will be focused on resolving the problems of young people from this local community, as well as on the recognition of non-formal education. The cooperation agreement has so far been signed with the Municipality of Livno and the Municipality of Novi Grad, Sarajevo.
