The winter holidays at The School of Friendship were filled with educational and entertaining content. The attendants of The School of Friendship enjoyed in various field trips that we organized for them. In the beginning of the holidays, the kids visited TV Alfa. On this occasion, the children saw how a TV program is made, how a television show is filmed and they were also introduced with TV reporters and journalists. The attendants of The School of Friendship tried their role as News presenters. Many expressed an ambition to pursue this occupation in the future.
Our following field trip included a visit to the Thermal Riviera IlidĹľa. The 24 children enjoyed 3 hours of ice-skating. Although there were falls, our little heroes managed excellently and successfully overcame this athletic skill.
The middle of the month was reserved for a visit to the National Museum of BiH. To most attendants of The School of Friendship it was the first visit to this cultural institution. Our attendants did not hide their excitement with this visit and were curious to observe the museum displays.
Another educational and entertaining visit occured on January 21, 2016, when the Sarajevo International Airport was visited. The attendants of The School of Friendship spent this day in a quality manner as well. Namely, by visiting the Sarajevo International Airport, they were introduced with the functioning of the air traffic, equipment and occupations related to the air traffic.
The next field trip occured on January 26, 2016. By visiting the Gazi Husrev-bey Library, the attendants of The School of Friendship were introduced with the history of the library, the inside museum, book restauration and the manner in which this cultural and historical institution functions. The visit managed to point to the importance of books and envoke a greater desire for reading in our kids.
These winter holidays were also concluded with a party for children that included face-painting, balloon modelling, various games and undeniable children’s laughter. After one full month of quality time, we can safely say that we are ready for school.
