Swedish Minister of Education Aida Hadžiali? States to Youth: “You Must Fight!”

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden and the Institute for Youth Development KULT organized a gathering for youth – Coffee Time with… Aida HadĹľiali?, one of the youngest Ministers in the history of Sweden who is a row model for many youth today. 

Youth used this opportunity to present the numerous challenges they are facing in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Minister, and Minister HadĹľiali? offered potential solutions to these problems by presenting examples from the Swedish system, mostly in the area of education. 

As she emphasized during the gathering, the strength is hidden in youth. She also stated that Sweden faced numerous crises, but that youth were precisely the ones who aided in overcoming them. As she said, they did so through their education, retraining and active participation in social activities.

The Minister also discussed the model of education in Sweden and its possible implementation in the Balkans, and also the implementation of practicing more frequent meetings with youth representatives. According to her, she meets with youth as a Minister once every two months.

On the question of whether the changes of the existing system in Bosnia and Herzegovina can generate successful youth, the Minister replied: “You must fight! You should be aware that you are responsible for your own life and that there are no excuses. You must find solutions and fight to succeed”. 

Aida HadĹľiali? was born in 1987 in Fo?a, but moved to Sweden as a 5-year-old. She is a lawyer by occupation, and engaged in politics when she was 16. She is also a member of the Social-Democratic Union, and had performed the function of Deputy Mayoress of Halmstad before she started performing the function of  the state Minister of Education.
